Happiness and Pleasure

Sleeping in late in the morning gives me pleasure but getting up early and exercising gives me happiness.

There……..thats pretty much the gist of all I want to say about that…

Pleasure and happiness are definitely not the same thing………as the above example shows.
So many times it is not easy to do what makes up happy.
But for me,simply understanding that theres a difference between the two won half the battle.

No longer do I think “When I enjoy this activity so much,how come I can’t do it all the time,how come I feel rotten afterwards”.
So are the things that give us “pleasure” and the things that make us “Happy” mutually exclusive.No,I don’t believe so.
I have learnt that things that give us only pleasure are like spices in food,they make the food interesting but you can’t have a lot without falling sick.

I have learnt that pleasure is great but extremely shortlived…….and not very deep…….

But happiness is ……..beautiful….and pleasure cannot come even close...
 
And some things give us both happiness and pleasure some of the time........they make life sweet and blessed
